The City of Pittsburgh's ONLY High School Hockey team!
About us
Who we are
The Carrick Cougars Hockey Club is a non-profit 501(c)(3) high school hockey organization that participates in the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL) and serves 9th - 12th grade student athletes who are physically enrolled in, or geographically aligned with Carrick High School, Allderdice High School, and Brashear High Schools within the Pittsburgh Public School District as well as West Mifflin Area, Steel Valley, Brentwood, and Carlynton High Schools in southwestern Pennsylvania. If you have questions about whether your son or daughter would be eligible to participate, please use the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page!
The Carrick Cougars Hockey Club was formed for the start of the 1996/1997 hockey season. As a Co-Op member of the PIHL, we play in Division 2 of the league along with other southwestern PA and West Virginia high school hockey clubs that also have co-op arrangements with neighboring school districts.
While we adhere to all academic eligibility requirements of our member schools, the hockey club itself is not affiliated with any of the schools or school districts that our student athletes attend. This includes being wholly self funded and governed by membership and membership volunteers. If you or someone you know is interested in being a sponsor of the Carrick Cougars Hockey Club, please see the 'Sponsors' link at the bottom of the page!
